Chapter 1 | Traditions about Ar-Ridha

31-162 According to the same documentation, it is narrated that regarding the Honorable the Exalted God’s words, ‘…but that he saw the evidence of his Lord…’ Ali ibn Al-Husayn said, “The wife of the Al-Aziz (king of Egypt) stood up and threw some material over the idol. Joseph asked her why she did that. She said, “I am ashamed of this idol who sees us.” Then Joseph told her, “You are ashamed of this idol which neither hears and sees, nor understands, eats or drinks, but should I not be ashamed of Him who created man and has taught him the following Words of the Honorable the Exalted God, ‘…but that he saw the evidence of his Lord…’”
