48 - وَبِهذَا الإِسنادِ قالَ: قالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُعَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ: لَمّا اُسْرِىَ بي إِلَى السَّماءِ رَأَيْتُ فِي السَّماءِ الثّالِثَةِ رَجُلاً قاعِداً، رِجلٌ لَهُ فِي المَشرِقِ وَرِجلٌ لَهُ فِي المَغْرِبِ وَبِيَدِهِ لَوْحٌ يَنْظُرُ فِيهِ وَيُحَرِّكُ رَأسَهُ، فَقُلْتُ: يا جَبْرَئِيلُ مَن هذا؟ قالَ: مَلَكُ المَوْتَ.

31-48 According to the same documentation, God’s Prophet (S) said, “When I ascended to the heavens, I saw a man in the third heaven with one foot on the East, the other foot on the West and a tablet in his hand which he constantly looked at while moving his head. I asked, “O Gabriel! Who is this?” He said, “It is the angel of death.”
