17 - حَدَّثَنا أَحْمَدِ بْنِ زِيادِ بْنِ جَعْفَر الْهَمَذانيّ قالَ:حَدَّثَنا عَلِىِّ بْنِ إِبراهِيمِ بْنِ هاشِم حَدَّثَني الرَّيانِ بْنِ الصَّلْتِ قالَ لَمَّا أَرَدْتُ الْخُرُوجَ إِلَى الْعِرَاقِ عَزَمْتُ عَلَى تَوْدِيعِ الرِّضَا a.sُ فَقُلْتُ فِي نَفْسِي إِذَا وَدَّعْتُهُ سَأَلْتُهُ قَمِيصاً مِنْ ثِيَابِ جَسَدِهِ لاكَفِّنَ بِهِ وَدَرَاهِمَ مِنْ مَالِهِ أَصُوغُ بِهَا لِبَنَاتِي خَوَاتِيمَ فَلَمَّا وَدَّعْتُهُ شَغَلَنِي الْبُكَاءُ وَالأَسَى عَلَى فِرَاقِهِ عَنْ مَسْأَلَتِهِ ذَلِكَ فَلَمَّا خَرَجْتُ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ صَاحَ بِي يَا رَيَّانُ ارْجِعْ فَرَجَعْتُ فَقَالَ لِي أَمَا تُحِبُّ أَنْ أَدْفَعَ إِلَيْكَ قَمِيصاً مِنْ ثِيَابِ جَسَدِي تُكَفَّنُ فِيهِ إِذَا فَنِيَ أَجَلُكَ أَوَمَا تُحِبُّ أَنْ أَدْفَعَ إِلَيْكَ دَرَاهِمَ تَصُوغُ بِهَا لِبَنَاتِكَ خَوَاتِيمَ فَقُلْتُ يَا سَيِّدِي قَدْ كَانَ فِي نَفْسِي أَنْ أَسْأَلَكَ ذَلِكَ فَمَنَعَنِي الْغَمُّ بِفِرَاقِكَ فَرَفَعَ a.sُ الْوِسَادَةَ وَأَخْرَجَ قَمِيصاً فَدَفَعَهُ إِلَيَّ وَرَفَعَ جَانِبَ الْمُصَلَّى فَأَخْرَجَ دَرَاهِمَ فَدَفَعَهَا إِلَيَّ فَعَدَدْتُهَا فَكَانَتْ ثَلاثِينَ دِرْهَماً

47-17 Ahmad ibn Ziyad ibn Ja’far al-Hamadani narrated that Ali ibn Ibrahim ibn Hashem quoted on the authority of Ar-Rayyan ibn As-Salt, “When I decided to go to Iraq and went to bid farewell to Ar-Ridha’ , I told myself, ‘When I say farewell to him , I will ask him to give me some of his own shirts to use as my shroud and ask him for some money with which to buy my daughter a ring.’ When I said farewell, I was so upset about leaving him that I totally forgot to tell him what I wanted. Once I went out, Ar-Ridha’ called out to me in a loud voice and said, ‘O Ryan! Come back.’ When I returned, Ar-Ridha’ asked me, ‘Would you like me to give you one of my own shirts to keep as your shroud until your death arrives? Do you want me to give a few Dirhams to you to buy a ring for your daughter?’ I said, ‘O my Master! I had told myself to ask you for these things, but the sorrow of leaving you made me totally forget to ask you.’ The Imam pushed aside his couch, picked up a shirt and gave it to me. Then he lifted up his prayer rug, picked up a few Dirhams and handed them to me. I counted them. They were thirty Dirhams in all.”
