Chapter 12 | Chapter on Those who Act without Knowledge

1ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله يَقُولُ الْعَامِلُ عَلَى غَيْرِ بَصِيرَةٍ كَالسَّائِرِ عَلَى غَيْرِ الطَّرِيقِ لا يَزِيدُهُ سُرْعَةُ السَّيْرِ إِلا بُعْداً.

1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from his father from Muhammad ibn Sinan from Talha ibn Zayd who has said the following. “(Imam) abu ‘Abdallah has said, ‘Working without understanding and insight is like travelling in the wrong direction that only takes one farther away from the destination.’”
