The Sufficient (Vol 1) · Hadith 1100 (#Ḥadīth #20)

20ـ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُعَلَّى بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْوَشَّاءِ عَنْ مُثَنًّى عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ عَجْلانَ عَنْ ابي جعفر فِي قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى إِنَّ أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِإِبْراهِيمَ لَلَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوهُ وَهذَا النَّبِيُّ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا قَالَ هُمُ الائِمَّةُ (عَلَيْهم السَّلام) وَمَنِ اتَّبَعَهُمْ.

20. Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad has narrated from Mu‘alla ibn Muhammad from al-Washsha’ from Muthanna from ‘Abdallah ibn ‘Ajlan from abu Ja‘far the following. about the words of Allah, the Most High. “The nearest people to Abraham, among mankind, are those who followed him, this Prophet (Muhammad) and the true believers. . .” (3:68) The Imam said, “They are the Imams and those who follow them.”
