The Sufficient (Vol 1) · Hadith 1139 (#Ḥadīth #59)

59ـ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مِهْرَانَ رَحِمَهُ الله عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَظِيمِ عَنْ بَكَّارٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنْ ابي جعفر قَالَ هَكَذَا نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الايَةُ وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ فَعَلُوا ما يُوعَظُونَ بِهِ فِي عَلِيٍّ لَكانَ خَيْراً لَهُمْ.

59. Ahmad Mihran has narrated –may Allah grant him blessings- from ‘Abd al-‘Azim from Bakkar from Jabir from abu Ja‘far who has said the following. “This verse of the Holy Quran was revealed as this, “If they had done what they had been advised to do (about Ali , it would have been for their own good . .” (4:66)
