The Sufficient (Vol 1) · Hadith 1438 (#Ḥadīth #18)

18ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ رِفَاعَةَ عَنْ أَبَانِ بْنِ تَغْلِبَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله فِي الرَّجُلِ يَمُوتُ لا وَارِثَ لَهُ وَلا مَوْلَى قَالَ هُوَ مِنْ أَهْلِ هَذِهِ الايَةِ يَسْئَلُونَكَ عَنِ الانْفالِ.

18. A number of our people has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from al-Qasim ibn Muhammad from Rifa‘a from Aban ibn Taghlib from abu ‘Abdallah who has said the following. About a man who dies without a heir the Imam said, “To him this verse applies, ‘They (the believers) ask you (Muhammad) about the booty captured (from the enemies) during a war. .” (8:1)
