The Sufficient (Vol 1) · Hadith 498 (#Ḥadīth #1)

1ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنِ النَّضْرِ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ وَفَضَالَةَ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ بَكْرٍ عَنِ الْفُضَيْلِ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله عَنْ قَوْلِ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَلِكُلِّ قَوْمٍ هادٍ فَقَالَ كُلُّ إِمَامٍ هَادٍ لِلْقَرْنِ الَّذِي هُوَ فِيهِمْ.

1. A number of our people has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from al-Nadr ibn Suwayd and Fudala ibn Ayyub from Musa ibn Bakr from al-Fudayl who has said that he asked Imam abu ‘Abdallah about the meaning of the words of Allah: “For every nation there is a guide.” (13:7) The Imam said that every Imam is the guide in his own time.”
