The Sufficient (Vol 1) · Hadith 744 (#Ḥadīth #4)

4ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ وَهْبٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لابي جعفر مَا عَلامَةُ الامَامِ الَّذِي بَعْدَ الامَامِ فَقَالَ طَهَارَةُ الْوِلادَةِ وَحُسْنُ الْمَنْشَإِ وَلا يَلْهُو وَلا يَلْعَبُ.

4. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn Isma‘il from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Mu‘wiya ibn Wahab who has said that asked the following from abu Ja‘far , “What is the sign of being A number of our people has narrated from Imam after the preceding Imam ?” The Imam said, “ Being of pure birth, good up bringing and that he would not trifle or engage in amusement.”
