The Sufficient (Vol 2) · Hadith 1293 (#Ḥadīth #2)

2ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ الله (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وآلِه) يَا مَعْشَرَ مَنْ أَسْلَمَ بِلِسَانِهِ وَلَمْ يُخْلِصِ الإيمَانَ إِلَى قَلْبِهِ لا تَذُمُّوا الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَلا تَتَبَّعُوا عَوْرَاتِهِمْ فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ تَتَبَّعَ عَوْرَاتِهِمْ تَتَبَّعَ الله عَوْرَتَهُ وَمَنْ تَتَبَّعَ الله تَعَالَى عَوْرَتَهُ يَفْضَحْهُ وَلَوْ فِي بَيْتِهِ. عَنْهُ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ عَنْ أَبِي الْجَارُودِ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) مِثْلَهُ.

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Nu’man from Ishaq ibn ‘ Ammar who has said the following: “I heard Abu ‘Abdillah saying, ‘The Messenger of Allah has said, “O group of people who have accepted Islam with their tongue and belief has not yet purely and freely entered into their hearts, do not criticize the Muslims and do not seek to search into their privacies to find faults in them; Allah will then do the same to them and to whomever Allah will do such a thing, He may disgrace him even in the privacy of his own home.’” It is narrated from him (narrator of the Hadith above) from Ali ibn al-Nu’man from abu al-Jarud from abu Ja’far a similar Hadith.
