The Sufficient (Vol 2) · Hadith 1304 (#Ḥadīth #2)

2ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ مَنْ قَالَ فِي مُؤْمِنٍ مَا رَأَتْهُ عَيْنَاهُ وَسَمِعَتْهُ أُذُنَاهُ فَهُوَ مِنَ الَّذِينَ قَالَ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يُحِبُّونَ أَنْ تَشِيعَ الْفاحِشَةُ فِي الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَهُمْ عَذابٌ أَلِيمٌ.

2. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from certain individuals of his people from Abu ‘Abdillah who has said the following: “Whoever says something about a believer that has not seen with his eyes and has not heard with his ears is then considered among those about whom Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, has said, ‘Those who like to publicize indecency among the believers will face painful torment in this world and in the life to come. . . .’” (24:19)
