The Sufficient (Vol 2) · Hadith 1337 (#Ḥadīth #1)

1ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ وَأَبُو عَلِيٍّ الأشْعَرِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ سَعْدَانَ عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ أَمِينٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ مَنْ بَخِلَ بِمَعُونَةِ أَخِيهِ الْمُسْلِمِ وَالْقِيَامِ لَهُ فِي حَاجَتِهِ إِلا ابْتُلِيَ بِمَعُونَةِ مَنْ يَأْثَمُ عَلَيْهِ وَلا يُؤْجَرُ.

1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid and abu Ali al-Ash’ari from Muhammad ibn Hassan from Muhammad ibn Ali from Sa’dan from Husayn ibn ‘Amin from abu Ja’far who has said the following: “Abu Ja’far has said, ‘Whoever exercises stinginess in assisting his Muslim brother and in helping him in his needs will run into an involvement of such an assistance that will make him sin and receive no rewards for it.’”
