Chapter 15 | Weeping

3ـ عَنْهُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي نَجْرَانَ عَنْ مُثَنًّى الْحَنَّاطِ عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ مَا مِنْ قَطْرَةٍ أَحَبَّ إِلَى الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ مِنْ قَطْرَةِ دُمُوعٍ فِي سَوَادِ اللَّيْلِ مَخَافَةً مِنَ الله لا يُرَادُ بِهَا غَيْرُهُ.

3. It is narrated from him (narrator of the Hadith above) from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn abu Najran from Muthanna al-Hannat from abu Hamza from abu la’ far who has said the following: “No drop is more beloved to Allah, the Majestic, the Glorious, than the drop of tears in the dark night for fear of Allah, and is intended to be just for Him alone.”
