The Sufficient (Vol 2) · Hadith 1809 (#Ḥadīth #1)

1ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عُثْمَانَ وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ جَمِيعاً عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنِ ابْنِ مُسْكَانَ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ لَيْثٍ الْمُرَادِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ مَنْ قَالَ عَشْرَ مَرَّاتٍ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ وَقَبْلَ غُرُوبِهَا لا إِلَهَ إِلا الله وَحْدَهُ لا شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ وَيُمِيتُ وَيُحْيِي وَهُوَ حَيٌّ لا يَمُوتُ بِيَدِهِ الْخَيْرُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ كَانَتْ كَفَّارَةً لِذُنُوبِهِ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمَ.

1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ‘Amr ibn ‘Uthman and Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father all from ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Mughirah from ibn Muskan from abu Basir Layth al-Muradi from ‘Abd al-Karim ibn ‘Utbah who has said the following: “I heard Abu ‘Abdillah saying, ‘Whoever (sincerely) says ten times before sunrise and before sunset, ‘No one deserves to be worshipped except Allah alone Who has no partner, the Kingdom is His, all praise belongs to Him, He gives life, causes death, causes death and gives life, He is living and will never die, in His hands is the good and He has power over all things,’ this will be the remedy and expiation for his sins on that day.’”
