Chapter 48 | The Word in the Morning and Evening

36. Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Isa, from al-Husayn ibn Sa'id that Muhammad ibn al-Fudayl said: "I wrote to Abu Ja'far al-Thani (al-Jawad) asking him to teach me a supplication. He wrote back to me saying, 'When you wake up in the morning and when you enter the evening, say: 'Allah, Allah, Allah, my Lord, the Merciful, the Compassionate. I do not associate anything with Him.' And if you add to that, it is better. Then supplicate for what you desire, and it will be for you, with the permission of Allah, the Exalted. Allah does whatever He wills.'"
