Chapter 49 | Prayer Before Sleeping and After Waking Up

5ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ كَانَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وآلِه) يَقُولُ اللهمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الإحْتِلامِ وَمِنْ سُوءِ الأحْلامِ وَأَنْ يَلْعَبَ بِيَ الشَّيْطَانُ فِي الْيَقَظَةِ وَالْمَنَامِ.

5. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from his father from ‘Abd Allah ibn Maymun from Abu ‘Abdillah who has said the following: “Amir al-Mu’minin, Ali ibn abu Talib would say, ‘O Lord, I seek protection with You against wet dreams and bad dreams and from Satan playing with me during my sleep or when awake.’”
