The Sufficient (Vol 2) · Hadith 2153 (#Ḥadīth #4)

4ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ الْحَلَبِيِّينَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ مُسْكَانَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَبَلِ لَمْ يُسَمِّهِ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) عَلَيْكَ بِالتِّلادِ وَإِيَّاكَ وَكُلَّ مُحْدَثٍ لا عَهْدَ لَهُ وَلا أَمَانَ وَلا ذِمَّةَ وَلا مِيثَاقَ وَكُنْ عَلَى حَذَرٍ مِنْ أَوْثَقِ النَّاسِ عِنْدَكَ.

4. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from certain individuals from al-Halab from ‘Abd Allah ibn Muskan from a man from people of al-Jabal whose name is not mentioned and who has said the following: “You should maintain good relations with your old associates and friends, be cautious about a new one who does not have any protection, responsibility, or commitment and always avoid (caution) the one whom you trust the most.”
