The Sufficient (Vol 2) · Hadith 27 (#Ḥadīth #3)

3ـ حُمَيْدُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَمَاعَةَ عَنْ غَيْرِ وَاحِدٍ عَنْ أَبَانٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَحَدِهِمَا (عَلَيهِما السَّلام) فِي قَوْلِ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ صِبْغَةَ الله وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ مِنَ الله صِبْغَةً قَالَ الصِّبْغَةُ هِيَ الإسْلامُ وَقَالَ فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَمَنْ يَكْفُرْ بِالطَّاغُوتِ وَيُؤْمِنْ بِالله فَقَدِ اسْتَمْسَكَ بِالْعُرْوَةِ الْوُثْقى قَالَ هِيَ الإيمَانُ.

3. Hamid ibn Ziyad has narrated from al-Hassan ibn Muhammad ibn Sama’a from more than one persons from Aban from Muhammad ibn Muslim from one of them who has said the following: “About the words of Allah, the Majestic, the Glorious, ‘. . . it is the coloring of Allah. Who has a better color than Allah’s color?’ (2:138), the Imam said, ‘Color stands for al-lslam, the religion.’ He, about the words of Allah, the Majestic, the Glorious, also said, ‘Whoever then rejects the Devil and establishes belief in Allah he, thus, has established his grasp securely with the strong ring,’ it (strong ring) means belief.’”
