Chapter 55 | Forbearance

5ـ عَنْهُ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حَفْصٍ الْعَوْسِيِّ الْكُوفِيِّ رَفَعَهُ إِلَى أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ الله (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وآلِه) مَا أَعَزَّ الله بِجَهْلٍ قَطُّ وَلا أَذَلَّ بِحِلْمٍ قَطُّ.

5. It is narrated from him (narrator of the Hadith above) from Ali ibn Hafs al-‘Awsi al-Kufi in a marfu’ manner from Abu ‘Abdillah who has said the following: “The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Allah has never given respect to anyone because of ignorance and He has never humiliated anyone who possessed forbearance.’”
