Chapter 9 | Performing Two Salah (Prayer) Soon After the Other

4ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُوسَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) يَقُولُ الْجَمْعُ بَيْنَ الصَّلاَتَيْنِ إِذَا لَمْ يَكُنْ بَيْنَهُمَا تَطَوُّعٌ فَإِذَا كَانَ بَيْنَهُمَا تَطَوُّعٌ فَلاَ جَمْعَ.

Ali ibn Muhammad has narrated from Muhammad ibn Musa from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from ibn Faddal from Hammad ibn ‘Uthman who has said the following: “Muhammad ibn Hakim narrated to me that he had heard abu al-Hassan , say, ‘Performing two Salah (prayer) soon one after the other is when no optional Salah (prayer) is performed between them. When optional Salah (prayer) is performed between them, they are not performed soon one after the other.’”
