Chapter 9 | Performing Two Salah (Prayer) Soon After the Other

5ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي زَكَرِيَّا عَنْ أَبَانٍ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ الْجَمَّالِ قَالَ صَلَّى بِنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) الظُّهْرَ وَالْعَصْرَ عِنْدَ مَا زَالَتِ الشَّمْسُ بِأَذَانٍ وَإِقَامَتَيْنِ وَقَالَ إِنِّي عَلَى حَاجَةٍ فَتَنَفَّلُوا.

Ali ibn Muhammad has narrated from al-Fadl ibn Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn Zakariya from Aban from Safwan al-Jammal who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah , performed with us al-Dhuhr and al-‘Asr Salah (prayer) after the sun declined (toward the west at noontime), with one Adhan and two ‘Iqamah, and said, ‘I need to do something, so you can perform optional Salah (prayer).”’
