Chapter 17 | Weeping and Appealing for One’s Needs in Salah (prayer)

2ـ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُعَلَّى بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْوَشَّاءِ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ بَيَّاعِ السَّابِرِيِّ قَالَ قُلْتُ لأَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) أَ يَتَبَاكَى الرَّجُلُ فِي الصَّلاَةِ فَقَالَ بَخْ بَخْ وَلَوْ مِثْلَ رَأْسِ الذُّبَابِ.

Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad has narrated from Mu‘alla’ ibn Muhammad from al-Washsha’ from Hammad ibn ‘Uthman from Sa‘id al- Bayya’ al-Sabiriy who has said the following: “I asked abu ‘Abd Allah , ‘Can a person weep during Salah (prayer)?’ The Imam replied, ‘It is a matter of great congratulations even if it (tears) is of the size of the head of a fly.’”
