Chapter 18 | Commencement of Adhan, Iqamah, and the Excellence of Reading them

10ـ أَبُو دَاوُدَ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ فَضَالَةَ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي نَصْرٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لأَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) أَ يَتَكَلَّمُ الرَّجُلُ فِي الأذَانِ قَالَ لاَ بَأْسَ قُلْتُ فِي الإِقَامَةِ قَالَ لاَ.

10. Abu Dawud has narrated from al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from Fadalah from al-Husayn ibn ‘Uthman from ‘Amr ibn abu Nasr who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah , “Can a man speak during Adhan?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not harmful.’ I then asked, about ‘Iqamah. He (the Imam) said, ‘No, it is not acceptable.’”
