The Sufficient (Vol 3) · Hadith 1289 (#Ḥadīth #3)

3ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنِ ابْنِ بُكَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) عَنِ الْقُنُوتِ فَقَالَ فِيمَا يُجْهَرُ فِيهِ بِالْقِرَاءَةِ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ إِنِّي سَأَلْتُ أَبَاكَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ فِي الْخَمْسِ كُلِّهَا فَقَالَ رَحِمَ الله أَبِي إِنَّ أَصْحَابَ أَبِي أَتَوْهُ فَسَأَلُوهُ فَأَخْبَرَهُمْ بِالْحَقِّ ثُمَّ أَتَوْنِي شُكَّاكاً فَأَفْتَيْتُهُمْ بِالتَّقِيَّةِ.

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn Faddal from ibn Bukayr from abu Basir who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah , about Qunut (supplication after recitation in second Rak‘at). He (the Imam) said, ‘It is in Salah (prayer) in which recitation is loudly?’ I (the narrator) then said to him (the Imam), ‘I asked your father about it and he said that it is in all of the five daily Salah (prayer).’ He (the Imam) then said, ‘I pray to Allah to grant favors to my father, the companions of my father asked him and he informed them of the truth. Thereafter skeptics came to me and I made a presentation according to Taqiyah.’”
