Chapter 59 | Performing Salah (Prayer) In One Piece of Cloth, How Much clothing a woman Needs, Salah (prayer) of Naked People and Putting One’s Clothes in a Certain Manner, Garb with a Sash

7ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) قَالَ لاَ يَنْبَغِي أَنْ تَتَوَشَّحَ بِإِزَارٍ فَوْقَ الْقَمِيصِ وَأَنْتَ تُصَلِّي وَلاَ تَتَّزِرْ بِإِزَارٍ فَوْقَ الْقَمِيصِ إِذَا أَنْتَ صَلَّيْتَ فَإِنَّهُ مِنْ زِيِّ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ.

7. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Hisham ibn Salim from abu Basir from who has said the following: “Abu ’Abd Allah , has said, ‘It is not proper to throw a loincloth over a shirt when performing Salah (prayer) or use a loincloth on a shirt when performing Salah (prayer); it is of the manner of dressing in the pre-Islamic age of darkness.”’
