18. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad and Muhammad ibn al-Husayn from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from Sanaa ‘ah from abu Basir who has said the following: “I once asked abu Ja’far , about the shawl made by Zoroastrians if I can perform Salah (prayer) with it. He (the Imam) asked, ‘Can it be washed with water?’ I replied, ‘Yes, it can be washed.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not an offense to perform Salah (prayer) with it.’ I then asked about cloths made by the weavers if I can perform Salah (prayer) with it. He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, you can do so.’”
