The Sufficient (Vol 3) · Hadith 163 (#Ḥadīth #9)

9ـ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُعَلَّى بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْوَشَّاءِ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ حَكَمِ بْنِ حُكَيْمٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) عَنْ رَجُلٍ نَسِيَ مِنَ الْوُضُوءِ الذِّرَاعَ وَالرَّأْسَ قَالَ يُعِيدُ الْوُضُوءَ إِنَّ الْوُضُوءَ يُتْبَعُ بَعْضُهُ بَعْضاً.

9. Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad has narrated from Mu‘alla’ ibn Muhammad from al-Hassan ibn Ali al-Washsha’ from Hammad ibn ‘Uthaman from Hakam ibn Hukaym who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah , about a man who forgets in his Wudu’ to wash his forearm and head. He (the Imam) said, ‘He must do it again; it is necessary to maintain the prescribed sequence in the acts of Wudu’.’”
