Chapter 5 | Grains Subject to Zakat
1ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ حَرِيزٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُهُ (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) عَنِ الْحُبُوبِ مَا يُزَكَّى مِنْهَا قَالَ الْبُرُّ وَالشَّعِيرُ وَالذُّرَةُ وَالدُّخْنُ وَالأرُزُّ وَالسُّلْتُ وَالْعَدَسُ وَالسِّمْسِمُ كُلُّ هَذَا يُزَكَّى وَأَشْبَاهُهُ.
1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Hammad ibn ‘Isa from Hariz from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following: “I once asked him (the Imam) , about grains which are subject to Zakat. He (the Imam) said, ‘Zakat is due on wheat, barley, corn, millet, rice, suit (something similar to wheat and barley), lentil and sesame all are subject to Zakat as well as the like.’”
