Chapter 6 | What Is not Subject to Zakat of Plantation and so Forth
5ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مَهْزِيَارَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ الْمُهْتَدِي قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) عَنِ الْقُطْنِ وَالزَّعْفَرَانِ عَلَيْهِمَا زَكَاةٌ قَالَ لاَ.
5. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn Mahziyar from ‘Abd ‘Aziz ibn al-Muhtadiy who has said the following: “I once asked abu al-Hassan , about cotton and saffron if there is Zakat on it. He (the Imam) said, ‘No, Zakat is not due on it.’”
