4. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from certain persons of our people who has said the following: “He (the Imam) has said, ‘When taking Ghusl (bath) for Friday, you should say the following: “O Lord, cleanse my heart of all afflictions which destroy my religion and invalidate my deeds.” “When taking Ghusl (bath) because of sexual relation say the following: ‘O Lord, cleanse my heart, purify my deeds, accept my efforts and make what is with You for me to be good.’””
