Chapter 24 | Zakat on Wealth of Slaves, al-Mukatib and the Insane People

1ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) قَالَ لَيْسَ فِي مَالِ الْمَمْلُوكِ شَيْءٌ وَلَوْ كَانَ لَهُ أَلْفُ أَلْفٍ وَلَوِ احْتَاجَ لَمْ يُعْطَ مِنَ الزَّكَاةِ شَيْئاً.

1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from ’Abd Allah ibn Sinan who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah , has said, ‘Zakat is not due on the asset of slaves even if it amounts to a million; but they cannot receive Zakat if they become needy.”’
