Chapter 8 | A Man Places His Hand in the Water before Washing, the Limit of Washing Hands Because of Carnal Relations, Urination, Feces and Sleeping

5ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) قَالَ سُئِلَ كَمْ يُفْرِغُ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى يَدِهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُدْخِلَهَا فِي الإِنَاءِ قَالَ وَاحِدَةً مِنْ حَدَثِ الْبَوْلِ وَثِنْتَيْنِ مِنَ الْغَائِطِ وَثَلاَثَةً مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ.

5. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Hammad from al-Halabiy who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah , was asked about how many times one must wash his hands before immersing them in the water container. He (the Imam) said, ‘Once, because of urination, twice because of defecation and three times because of sexual relation.’”
