The Sufficient (Vol 3) · Hadith 819 (#Ḥadīth #1)

1ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ شَمُّونٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ مِسْمَعٍ كِرْدِينٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) قَالَ الْمَرْجُومُ وَالْمَرْجُومَةُ يُغَسَّلاَنِ وَيُحَنَّطَانِ وَيُلْبَسَانِ الْكَفَنَ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ يُرْجَمَانِ وَيُصَلَّى عَلَيْهِمَا وَالْمُقْتَصُّ مِنْهُ بِمَنْزِلَةِ ذَلِكَ يُغَسَّلُ وَيُحَنَّطُ وَيُلْبَسُ الْكَفَنَ وَيُصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ.

1. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Muhammad ibn al-Hassan ibn Shammun from ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Abd al- Rahman from Misma’ Kirdin who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah , has said, ‘Ghusl (bath), hunut, and shroud are done for people stoned to death, male or female, prior to executing stoning, then Salah (prayer) is performed. Ghusl (bath), hunut, shrouding and Salah (prayer) for one executed because of retaliation are also done before the execution.”’
