3. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from a man who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘ Abd Allah , about a man who offers a badanah but it suffers damage or is destroyed. He (the Imam) said, ’If it is a binding obligation, he owes its replacement, otherwise, he is not obligated for anything in this matter.’ I then asked, ‘Can he use it for food?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, he can do so.’”
