Chapter 3 | The Virtue of Giving Charity Out of Public Sight
3. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from his father from Safwan ibn Yahya from ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Walid al-Wassafiy who has said the following: “Abu Ja’far , has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ’Giving charity out of public sight extinguishes the anger of the Lord, Allah, the most Blessed, the most High.’”
