4. Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad has narrated from Mu‘alla’ ibn Muhammad from al-Hassan ibn Ali al-Washsha’ from Hammad ibn ‘Uthman from those whom he has mentioned who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah , about a man who dies and owes fast of the month of Ramadan and about who is responsible to complete its Qada’ (compensatory fast) on his behalf. He (the Imam) said, ‘The one who has the greatest degree of priority in the matter about him completes Qada’ (compensatory fast) on his behalf.’ I then asked, ‘Can such person be a woman?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘No, such person can only be from men.’”
