The Sufficient (Vol 5) · Hadith 1088 (#Ḥadīth #4)

4- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ وَأَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي سَأَلَ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ فَقَالَ لَهُ رُبَّمَا أَمَرْنَا الرَّجُلَ فَيَشْتَرِي لَنَا الأرْضَ وَالدَّارَ وَالْغُلامَ وَالْجَارِيَةَ وَنَجْعَلُ لَهُ جُعْلا قَالَ لا بَأْسَ.

4. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad and Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Mahbub from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan who has said the following: “Once, a man asked abu ‘Abd Allah , when I was listening, ‘We perhaps order a man to buy for us land, house, slave or slave-girl and assign for him a certain amount. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not unlawful.’”
