The Sufficient (Vol 5) · Hadith 1120 (#Ḥadīth #2)

2- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ شَمُّونٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الأصَمِّ عَنْ مِسْمَعِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا بَيْنَ بِئْرِ الْمَعْطِنِ إِلَى بِئْرِ الْمَعْطِنِ أَرْبَعُونَ ذِرَاعاً وَمَا بَيْنَ بِئْرِ النَّاضِحِ إِلَى بِئْرِ النَّاضِحِ سِتُّونَ ذِرَاعاً وَمَا بَيْنَ الْعَيْنِ إِلَى الْعَيْنِ خَمْسُمِائَةِ ذِرَاعٍ وَالطَّرِيقُ إِذَا تَشَاحَّ عَلَيْهِ أَهْلُهُ فَحَدُّهُ سَبْعَةُ أَذْرُعٍ.

2. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Muhammad ibn al-Hassan ibn Shammun from ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman al-Asamm from Misma’ ibn ‘Abd al-Malik who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah , has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, assigned the distance between two wells for drinking water to be forty Dhira‘ (arms length) and between two irrigating wells sixty Dhira‘ and between two water fountains five hundred Dhira‘ and the width of a road when people disputed was seven Dhira‘.’”
