The Sufficient (Vol 5) · Hadith 1430 (#Ḥadīth #7)

7- عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ عَمَّنْ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ إِنَّ فَاطِمَةَ (عَلَيْهِا السَّلام) قَالَتْ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ زَوَّجْتَنِي بِالْمَهْرِ الْخَسِيسِ فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا أَنَا زَوَّجْتُكِ وَلَكِنَّ اللهَ زَوَّجَكِ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ وَجَعَلَ مَهْرَكِ خُمُسَ الدُّنْيَا مَا دَامَتِ السَّمَاوَاتُ وَالأرْضُ.

7. Ali ibn Muhammad has narrated from ‘Abd Allah ibn Ishaq from al-Hassan ibn Ali ibn Sulayman from those who narrated to him who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah , has said, ‘Fatimah, ‘Alayha al-Salam, said to the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, ‘You have given me in marriage for a very little mahr (dower).’ The Messenger of Allah said, ‘I have not given you in marriage but it is Allah who has given you in marriage from the heaven and has assigned one-fifth of the world as your mahr (dower) for as long as there are the skies and the earth.’”
