Chapter 47 | Amount of Mahr today is the Mutually Agreed Amount

4- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مَرَّارٍ عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنِ النَّضْرِ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ بَكْرٍ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ أَعْيَنَ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ الصَّدَاقُ كُلُّ شَيْءٍ تَرَاضَى عَلَيْهِ النَّاسُ قَلَّ أَوْ كَثُرَ فِي مُتْعَةٍ أَوْ تَزْوِيجٍ غَيْرِ مُتْعَةٍ.

4. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ‘Isma’il ibn Marrar from Yunus al-Nadr ibn Suwayd from Musa ibn Bakr from Zurarah ibn ‘A‘yan who has said the following: “Abu Ja‘far , has said, ‘The amount of mahr (dower) is that upon which people agree and it can be little or a great deal, in an advantageous marriage or non-advantageous marriage.’”
