Chapter 48 | Rare Ahadith about Mahr
16- أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الأشْعَرِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ عَنِ ابْنِ مُسْكَانَ عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ الْخَزَّازِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهُ مَا أَدْنَى مَا يُجْزِئُ مِنَ الْمَهْرِ قَالَ تِمْثَالٌ مِنْ سُكَّرٍ.
16. Abu Ali al-Ash’ariy has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Jabbar from Safwan from ibn Muskan from abu Ayyub al-Khazzaz from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following: “This is concerning my question before abu ‘Abd Allah , about the minimum amount of mahr (dower). He (the Imam) said, ‘It can be a figure of sugar.’”
