Chapter 2 | The Meaning of Zuhd (Asceticism)
2. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from al-Jahm ibn al-Hakam from ‘Isma’il ibn Muslim who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah , has said, ‘Zuhd (restraint from worldly matters) is not in wasting one’s belongings or making lawful things unlawful.’”
