The Sufficient (Vol 5) · Hadith 1566 (#Ḥadīth #1)

1- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ يُونُسَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ عَوَّاضٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لأبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ أَتَزَوَّجُ الْمَرْأَةَ أَيَصْلُحُ لِي أَنْ أُوَاقِعَهَا وَلَمْ أَنْقُدْهَا مِنْ مَهْرِهَا شَيْئاً قَالَ نَعَمْ إِنَّمَا هُوَ دَيْنٌ عَلَيْكَ.

1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn from Muhammad ibn ‘Isma’il from Mansur ibn Yunus from ‘Abd al-Hamid ibn ‘Awwad who has said the following: “This is concerning my question before abu ‘Abd Allah , about forming marriage terms with a woman; if I can go to bed with her without paying her anything in cash of her mahr (dower). He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, you can do so, it is only a debt on you.’”
