Chapter 83 | The Case of Four Wives and Divorcing one to Marry another before the end of the ‘Iddah (waiting period) or Marries Five Women at one Time

1- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ جَمِيلِ بْنِ دَرَّاجٍ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ أَعْيَنَ وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ إِذَا جَمَعَ الرَّجُلُ أَرْبَعاً فَطَلَّقَ إِحْدَاهُنَّ فَلا يَتَزَوَّجِ الْخَامِسَةَ حَتَّى تَنْقَضِيَ عِدَّةُ الْمَرْأَةِ الَّتِي طَلَّقَ وَقَالَ لا يَجْمَعِ الرَّجُلُ مَاءَهُ فِي خَمْسٍ.

1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Jamil ibn Darraj from Zurarah ibn ‘A‘yan and Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah , has said, ‘If a man accumulates four wives then divorces one, he cannot marry the fifth before the end of waiting period of the woman whom he has divorced.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘A man cannot deposit his water in five.’”
