Chapter 143 | Words to Say during Conjugal Relation
5- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبَانٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَعْيَنَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ يَقُولُ إِذَا أَرَادَ الرَّجُلُ أَنْ يَتَزَوَّجَ الْمَرْأَةَ فَلْيَقُلْ أَقْرَرْتُ بِالْمِيثَاقِ الَّذِي أَخَذَ اللهُ إِمْسَاكٌ بِمَعْرُوفٍ أَوْ تَسْرِيحٌ بِإِحْسَانٍ.
5. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Aban from ‘Abd af-Rahman ibn ‘ A‘yan who has said the following: “I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah , saying, ‘When a man wants to marry a woman he should say, “I authenticate my covenant with Allah which is: “maintain in a reasonable way or allow to go with kindness.” (2:229)’”
