3- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَمَّنْ ذَكَرَهُ عَنْ مُفَضَّلٍ الْجُعْفِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مَا أَقْبَحَ بِالرَّجُلِ مِنْ أَنْ يُرَى بِالْمَكَانِ الْمُعْوِرِ فَيُدْخَلَ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى صَالِحِي أَصْحَابِنَا يَا مُفَضَّلُ أَتَدْرِي لِمَ قِيلَ مَنْ يَزْنِ يَوْماً يُزْنَ بِهِ قُلْتُ لا جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ قَالَ إِنَّهَا كَانَتْ بَغِيٌّ فِي بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ وَكَانَ فِي بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ رَجُلٌ يُكْثِرُ الاخْتِلافَ إِلَيْهَا فَلَمَّا كَانَ فِي آخِرِ مَا أَتَاهَا أَجْرَى اللهُ عَلَى لِسَانِهَا أَمَا إِنَّكَ سَتَرْجِعُ إِلَى أَهْلِكَ فَتَجِدُ مَعَهَا رَجُلا قَالَ فَخَرَجَ وَهُوَ خَبِيثُ النَّفْسِ فَدَخَلَ مَنْزِلَهُ غَيْرَ الْحَالِ الَّتِي كَانَ يَدْخُلُ بِهَا قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ وَكَانَ يَدْخُلُ بِإِذْنٍ فَدَخَلَ يَوْمَئِذٍ بِغَيْرِ إِذْنٍ فَوَجَدَ عَلَى فِرَاشِهِ رَجُلا فَارْتَفَعَا إِلَى مُوسَى فَنَزَلَ جَبْرَئِيلُ عَلَى مُوسَى فَقَالَ يَا مُوسَى مَنْ يَزْنِ يَوْماً يُزْنَ بِهِ فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهِمَا فَقَالَ عِفُّوا تَعِفَّ نِسَاؤُكُمْ.

3. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Khalid from his father from those whom he has mentioned from Mufaddal al-Ju‘fiy who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah , has said, ‘How ugly of a man it is being seen in an imperfect (sinful) place, then impose it on us or the righteous ones of our people. O Mufaddal, do you know why it is said, ‘If one commits fornication one day it will be committed against him.’ I replied, ‘No, I pray to Allah to keep my soul in service for your cause.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘In banu Israel, there was a female fornicator and a male fornicator who would go to her very often. The last time he went Allah made a certain expression to come through her tongue, “When you return to your wife you will find a man with her.” He came out with his soul turned filthy because of what she had said and entered his home in a different condition, without asking for permission as he would do before and found a man in his bed with his wife. They took their case to Moses and Jibril came to Moses saying, “O Moses, whoever commits fornication one day fornication is committed against him.” He looked at them and said, “Forgive, thus your wives will become chaste.’””
