The Sufficient (Vol 6) · Hadith 1010 (#Ḥadīth #1)

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ مَا عَذَّبَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ قَوْماً قَطُّ وَ هُمْ يَأْكُلُونَ وَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ أَكْرَمُ مِنْ أَنْ يَرْزُقَهُمْ شَيْئاً ثُمَّ يُعَذِّبَهُمْ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّى يَفْرُغُوا مِنْهُ .

1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn Faddal from certain persons of our people who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah , has said, ’Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, has never made a people to undergo suffering while eating food. Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, is honorable. He does not give people sustenance, then make them to undergo suffering before they finish eating their food.’”
