Chapter 47 | Mentioning the name of Allah and Tahmid (All Praise Belongs to Allah) over the Food

عَنْهُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ النَّضْرِ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ جَرَّاحٍ الْمَدَائِنِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) اذْكُرِ اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ عَلَى الطَّعَامِ فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَقُلِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي يُطْعِمُ وَ لَا يُطْعَمُ .

13. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from al-Nadr ibn Suwayd from al-Qasim ibn Sulayman from Jarrah al- Mada’iniy who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah , has said, ‘Mention the name of Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, on food and when you complete eating say, ‘All praise belongs to Allah who feeds and is not fed.’”
