Chapter 112 | The Endives
عَنْهُ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنِ الْأَصَمِّ عَنْ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ( عليه السلام ) كُلُوا الْهِنْدَبَاءَ فَمَا مِنْ صَبَاحٍ إِلَّا وَ تَنْزِلُ عَلَيْهَا قَطْرَةٌ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ فَإِذَا أَكَلْتُمُوهَا فَلَا تَنْفُضُوهَاقَالَ وَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) كَانَ أَبِي ( عليه السلام ) يَنْهَانَا أَنْ نَنْفُضَهَا إِذَا أَكَلْنَاهَا .
8. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from certain persons of our people from al-Asamm from Shu’ayb from abu Basir who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah , has said that ’Amir al-Mu’minin has said, ‘You should eat endives. Every morning one drop descends on it from paradise and when you eat it do not shake it off.’ Abu ‘Abd Allah , has said, ‘My father , prohibited us from shaking off when we ate endives.’”
