Chapter 4 | Drinking Water Standing and Drinking it in One Breath
عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي مَحْمُودٍ رَفَعَهُ إِلَى أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ شُرْبُ الْمَاءِ مِنْ قِيَامٍ بِالنَّهَارِ يُمْرِئُ الطَّعَامَ وَ شُرْبُ الْمَاءِ مِنْ قِيَامٍ بِاللَّيْلِ يُورِثُ الْمَاءَ الْأَصْفَرَ .
2. Ali ibn Muhammad has narrated from Muhammad ibn abu Mahmud in a marfu‘ manner has said the following: “Abu ’Abd Allah , has said, ‘During the day drinking water when standing makes the food more pleasant; but drinking water during the night when standing causes al-Safra ’ (yellowness, acidity).”’
